Event Location:

Event Description

In conversation, Rachel Bearn reflects on her book A Year to Slow Down and the growing sense that modern life has become too fast, too loud, and too exhausting. As more people turn towards traditional skills, seasonal rhythms, and slower ways of living, Rachel asks whether this is simply a passing aesthetic — or a deeper longing for peace, connection, and rootedness.

Hosted by Rachael Newham, the discussion will explore these themes with warmth and insight.

Drawing on her own experience of slowing down while living with severe chronic illness, Rachel shares how reducing her pace helped her begin to heal and deepen her faith. The book follows the four seasons of the year, weaving together Christian festivals, everyday practices, and spiritual reflection, and encouraging readers to live attentively, seasonally, and in dependence on God.

This session will explore faith, rest, and what it might mean to choose a slower, more intentional way of life. The conversation will conclude with an audience Q&A, followed by a book signing.

This session will be held in the Church Hall. Bookings are subject to our terms and conditions.
