Jonathan Bryan learned to read and write at home after being removed from special school at age seven. Just before his ninth birthday, he began spelling out words using his eyes and an E-tran alphabet board, transforming his ability to communicate.

Determined to advocate for others with profound disabilities, he founded Teach Us Too, a charity promoting literacy for all children. He speaks to educators nationwide and is a member of FLARE, the Department for Education’s young SEND advisory group.

His memoir, Eye Can Write, has sold over 16,000 copies, with royalties supporting his charity. In 2020, he received the Alphege Award from the Archbishop of Canterbury and has spoken on disability and faith at major events. Now studying creative writing at Bath Spa University, he continues amplifying the voices of young people transformed by literacy.
